Search Committee Update:

  • We have met with Canon Brad and our consultant to discuss the next stages in the discernment process, and we are about to enter into the interview process.
  • To respect the confidentiality of the candidates, we will not be providing detailed updates throughout the search process. If all goes according to plan, the next announcement you hear will be Shirley sharing the name of our new Rector. We ask for your patience and continued prayers, as the interview process, follow-up conversations, call process, and final details may take some time to complete.

Prayer for the Search Committee:

Gracious and Loving God, I ask your guidance and wisdom for the search committee. Bless these individuals called to serve, grant them unity, spiritual strength, and discernment to hear your voice in their deliberations. Keep them open to one another and to your will, nurturing patience and deep trust in you. May they be sensitive to your direction as they identify the shepherd you have chosen for us, and may the chosen priest be a faithful steward of your word. Instill in all of us, the congregation, a vision of the future guided by your Holy Spirit, so that we may be united in love and gladly accomplish your mission for us.

Want to play the bells and not just any bells?

Many thanks to Larry Decker, who taught Alexander Cullison to ring the bells in the steeple before the Sunday service. May the tradition continue for many years to come…..

Outreach Opportunities…

Look for more ways to donate over the summer.

The June outreach is Warriors Helping Warriors (Brian Conley Veterans Resiliency Center) located in Middletown.

The center offers programs to support health and wellness, housing, resource and benefits education, financial planning, recreation, peer support and mental health. It also includes residential space homeless veterans with bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms.

Wish List (Donation Box is located at the Church Entrance):

Dart Bus passes for Zone 2, Coffee, Spin buckets & mops (can be found on Amazon), toilet paper, and toiletries, Bleach, and snack items, cash or check donations (Please make checks out to St. Peter’s Church with a note in the memo line Warriors Helping Warriors.)

In August, we will be helping the students at North Smyrna Elementary get a good start on the school year by donating backpacks filled with school supplies to them.

We “Thank” everyone who donates to all the outreach opportunities and food pantry over the year. Your generosity is appreciated by the outreach committee and all the various organizations who received the support.

Game Time

Thanks to everyone who played Have You Seen This? for the month of April! The following people submitted the correct location of the carpet in the Treasurer’s Office (aka Jeff’s office 😊).

Dawn Adams, Yvonne Belle, Carol Binns, Leroy Brown, Diana Cullison, Alex Cullison, Stan McIntyre, Melody Richards and Mary Sanders.

The winner of the $10 giftcard to WAWA is Alex Cullison! Congratulations!

 Have You Seen This?-May 2026-

Each month a picture will be selected from around the church (including parish hall and office wing). There is a full color picture placed on the bulletin board across from the kitchen window and one sent in the weekly email. To play all you need to do is look around the building to see if you can locate where the item in the picture is located. If you are playing in person, write down the location and put it in the envelope provided on the bulletin board. If playing online, email the church office at stpeters.smyrna@verizon.net with the location. Everyone who guesses the correct location of the picture will be placed in a drawing at the end of the month for a chance to win a $10 giftcard to Marmy’s (Ice Cream).

Let’s get out and look around to see how beautiful our church is!
