St. Peter’s Church in Smyrna is entering an exciting season of transition as our rector has been called to a new ministry. As a parish, we are engaging in a prayerful process of discernment to identify the next spiritual leader who will guide us in our shared mission.  We are preparing to call a full-time priest-in-charge.

The call of a priest-in-charge is a significant moment in a congregation’s life of faith. The priest serves as the primary spiritual leader, partnering with the vestry to inspire and guide our community in living out Christ’s love.

This discernment is not a job search—it is a thoughtful and prayerful journey. The search committee, appointed by the vestry, works closely with the St. Peter’s community to reflect on our mission and share it widely. This ensures that clergy who feel called to lead a vibrant and welcoming congregation can engage in a conversation about joining us in continuing and expanding our ministry.
